Notice of Health Regulation Changes
Due to new USDA regulations, Pro Pet Transports will now require that all animals, with the exception of rodents and reptiles, now have an official, multi-copy, state issued certificate for interstate travel. These certificates must be acquired from a licensed veterinarian no more than 10 days prior to the scheduled transport date. We appreciate your assistance in this matter.

Health Certificates Explained
While nearly all animals transported with our company are required to have a health certificate, you should understand the following:

A health certificate only states that an animal is free from infectious diseases and current on all vaccinations. It does not indicate that the animal itself is in good health.

If you are purchasing an animal from someone that you do not know personally, we strongly recommend that you request proof of a clear physical examination from a qualified veterinarian. This additional measure will insure that you are buying a healthy animal and avoid any difficulties that might arise during or after delivery.

General: Please have your cat ready for transport. All transfers of cats, whether pickup or delivery, must be done indoors or in a secure location. This is because cats in unfamiliar territory have a tendency to run as soon as possible. We cannot be responsible for lost animals that get away from the sender before our drivers can take possession of them. Upon arrival, the driver will review your papers and give your cat a health inspection. We cannot transport cats that have a tendency to be aggressive or vicious. If your cat becomes aggressive during the transport, it may become necessary to leave him/her in the carrier for part or even the entire transport (for the safety and comfort of everyone on board).

We understand that many cat owners are concerned about their cats being transported with dogs in the same vehicle. Our transport vehicles are large and we are able to place the cats and dogs in such a way as to eliminate stress for them all.

We carry many types of toys for your cats entertainment. We encourage sending familiar toys, blankets or other favorite objects to allow the cat to feel at home during transport. Your cat will enjoy our feline recreation areas, where they can play to their hearts content.

*Please Note* We are not equipped to carry extras, such as bowls, leashes, extra paperwork, unnecessary medicines or any other items, for your cat(s). Please make other arrangements to have any items that are not needed for the transport shipped to your cat's destination. Our attendants are instructed to refuse any items that are not necessary for the transport.

It is highly recommended that alternate arrangements be in place in case the person responsible for sending or receiving the animal is unable to do so. Notify Pro-Pet-Transports as soon as you know of a change of plans. Our cancellation policy can be viewed on our Schedules page.

Carriers: If you have requested a pet carrier, it will be delivered when the driver arrives. It is very important to order the proper size carrier for your cat. To get the correct size, measure your cat from the floor to the top of the shoulder, add about two inches for headroom. Height is only one aspect of comfort for your cat, you also need to make sure the length of the carrier is adequate. We do not allow wire carriers for cats. If you are providing your own pet carrier, please make sure your cat is able to sit, stand, lay down and turn around easily. It is a good idea to put your cat in your carrier prior to transport to make sure they haven't outgrown it if it has been some time since it's last use.

Important Note: We are phasing out the Pet Taxi size carrier for dogs and cats out of concern for the comfort and safety of the animals. The smallest carrier we will be shipping dogs and cats in will be the equivalent of a 100 Vari-Kennel or 21Lx16Wx15H.

Bedding: Cat Pads are required for the transportation of all cats. We will supply Dryfur Cat Pads which which are custom (disposable) super-absorbent bedding made to fit the different carriers, and are also comfortable for them to lay on.
*Important note*: We only charge for these beds once, though they are replaced as needed at any time throughout the transport for free, so you can be assured that your cat/kitten will stay clean and dry.

Documents: Professional Pet Transports Inc. is bound by UDSA regulations. All cats must have a current health certificate from a qualified veterinarian or we will not be able to transport them. Please have your cat's health certificate, immunization records and emergency care authorization form ready and available for review. If medication is required, please notify our drivers/attendants.

Food: We provide a variety of high quality cat food for all ages. If your cat requires a special diet or you would prefer to supply your own, please have it ready for the journey in a zip lock bag. We use our own stainless steel food and water bowls. We furnish treats and snacks. We also provide bottled drinking water at no additional charge to you.

Special Needs: Make sure to let us know if your cat has any special needs, such as medication that needs to be administered or other physical disabilites. Our attendants can accomodate your cats needs.

We use large transport vehicles that allow plenty of elbow room and proper ventilation. We are careful not to overbook, allowing our attendants adequate access to the carriers as the vehicles are moving. All of our transport vehicles have refrigeration for any special needs. Each vehicle has two or three driver/attendants on board at all times allowing an attendant to interact with the animals while another is driving.
