Notice of Health Regulation Changes

Due to new USDA regulations, Pro Pet Transports will now require that all animals, with the exception of rodents and reptiles, now have an official, multi-copy, state issued certificate for interstate travel. These certificates must be acquired from a licensed veterinarian no more than 10 days prior to the scheduled transport date. We appreciate your assistance in this matter.

Health Certificates Explained
While nearly all animals transported with our company are required to have a health certificate, you should understand the following:

A health certificate only states that an animal is free from infectious diseases and current on all vaccinations. It does not indicate that the animal itself is in good health. If you are purchasing an animal from someone that you do not know personally, we strongly recommend that you request proof of a clear physical examination from a qualified veterinarian. This additional measure will insure that you are buying a healthy animal and avoid any difficulties that might arise during or after delivery.

General: Professional Pet Transports Inc. is able to accommodate the needs of many different types of pets, whether you have a pot bellied pig, box turtle, reptile or exotic chicken that requires transportation. Please have your animal ready for transport.

Animals that require exercise will receive walks about every four hours; you will need to provide the necessary handling equipment such as harnesses or collars.

It is highly recommended that alternate arrangements be in place in case the person responsible for sending or receiving the animal is unable to do so. Notify Pro-Pet-Transports as soon as you know of a change of plans. Our cancellation policy can be viewed on our Schedules page.

Carriers: If you have no cage/carrier suitable for transport, please contact us regarding options we can provide. Our largest carrier is 32 inches wide, 48 inches long and 35 inches tall. This size can accommodate many animals such as goats, miniature horses, lambs or small llama's. If you have a larger carrier contact us for information on cost and availability of space.

You will need to provide the proper bedding material so that the carrier can be cleaned as needed.

Documents: Please have the signed emergency care authorization form and any other necessary documentation ready and available to travel with your pet/s.

Food: Please have food for transport in a zip lock bag, (or other appropriate container). Our transport vehicles are equipped with refrigeration for foods that require it. We also provide bottled drinking water at no additional cost to you.

Special Needs: We use large transport vehicles that allow plenty of elbow room and proper ventilation and the steps make it easy for animals to enter and exit the vehicle. We are careful not to overbook, allowing our attendants adequate access to the carriers during transport. Each vehicle has two or three driver/attendants on board at all times allowing an attendant to interact with the animals while another is driving.

Contact our office regarding ANY animal that you may want to transport. Our office staff will be able to assist you in selecting the appropriate type of carriers you need and give any information that you require.

Because of differing state requirements and restrictions, PPT does not transport raccoons.
