RABBITS

Notice of Health Regulation Changes
Due to new USDA regulations, Pro Pet Transports will now require that all animals, with the exception of rodents and reptiles, now have an official, multi-copy, state issued certificate for interstate travel. These certificates must be acquired from a licensed veterinarian no more than 10 days prior to the scheduled transport date. We appreciate your assistance in this matter.
Health Certificates Explained
While nearly all animals transported with our company are required to have a health certificate, you should understand the following:
A health certificate only states that an animal is free from infectious diseases and current on all vaccinations. It does not indicate that the animal itself is in good health. If you are purchasing an animal from someone that you do not know personally, we strongly recommend that you request proof of a clear physical examination from a qualified veterinarian. This additional measure will insure that you are buying a healthy animal and avoid any difficulties that might arise during or after delivery.
General: Please have your rabbit ready for transport.
It is highly recommended that alternate arrangements be in place in case the person responsible for sending or receiving the animal is unable to do so. Notify Pro-Pet-Transports as soon as you know of a change of plans. Our cancellation policy can be viewed on our Schedules page.
PPT understands the special needs of house rabbits. Please be sure to indicate when ordering that your bunny is a house pet. Rabbits are placed in exercise pens about every four hours giving the driver/attendants the opportunity to observe them as well as giving them a break from their carrier.
Carriers: If you have requested a pet carrier, it will be delivered when the driver arrives. If you are supplying your own carrier, make sure there is adequate room for the animal(s) to stand, lay down and turn around comfortably. Wire carriers are allowed, however if you are transporting in your own, it must have a solid bottom with a removable tray for cleaning. Multiple rabbits may travel in the same pet carrier to the same destination at no extra charge. They must have adequate room to stand, lay down and move about comfortably.
Documents: Please have the signed emergency care authorization form ready and available to travel with your rabbit/s.
Food: We provide a variety of high quality rabbit food. If your rabbit requires a special diet or if you would prefer to supply your own food, please have it ready for the journey in a zip lock bag. You will need to provide feeders and water bottles. We furnish rabbit treats and snacks, and provide bottled drinking water, all at no additional charge to you.
Special Needs: We use large transport vehicles that allow plenty of elbow room and proper ventilation. We are careful not to overbook, allowing our attendants adequate access to the carriers during transport. All of our vehicles have refrigeration for any special needs. Each vehicle has two or three driver/attendants on board at all times allowing an attendant to interact with the animals while another is driving. Make sure to let us know if your rabbit has any special needs, such as medication that needs to be administered or other physical disabilites. Our attendants can accomodate the rabbits needs.
